                NORTHEAST EXCHANGE CLUB OF

                ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA, INC.

 Exchange is an organization of men and women striving to make our nation and community a better place to live by supporting numerous projects designed to improve the lives of children and its citizens.  Founded in 1970, this club established the Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse and continues with this mission by supporting other agencies engaged in child protection and abuse prevention services.

The major fundraiser operated by the Club is the annual Ribfest™ held on a waterfront park in St. Petersburg. The 3-day fundraising event requires year-around planning and has become the premier charity event in the City, with renowned bands, BBQ rib vendors and activities for children and beverage sales. Ribfest™ generated over $3.5 million dollars that enabled the club to pledge $1 million to the construction of All Children’s Hospital while continuing to support over 20 other organizations.

The club’s Tuesday luncheons features announcements, social planning and guest speakers who present programs to keep the club abreast of various activities and organizations in the community.  The club sponsors many Doorway Scholarships, for which members become mentors of at risk children in elementary education.  With a high success rate, children are provided tuition scholarships for college.  The club sponsors a youth club, the Junior Exchange Club, located at Shorecrest Prep School.

Club programs, donations and projects impact the lives of abused and neglected children, the elderly, the poor, and helps inexperienced parents.  It impacts the lives of every child who enters All Children’s Hospital as club support has been steadfast through the years with the hospital’s first heart-lung machine, the neo-natal unit, and the emergency room for children, and now the $1 million we have donated for new All Children's Hospital that

opened in December of 2009.
